Our handmade sambusas are triangular savory pastries: A crispy wrap around delicious fillings flavored in traditional East African style with fresh ginger, garlic, and cilantro, deep-fried to golden ("zaabu") perfection.

It's back-to-school time, and and also Back-to-Sambusas!! 🤩🤩 Our next Sambusa Day is coming right up on Wednesday, Sept 1st! Tell your friends: Sambusas make the perfect easy-to-carry lunch! They can be eaten cold or hot, and are quick to microwave. Also makes a great quick dinner that kids love. Take your family on a virtual trip to East Africa! Are you excited? WE'RE EXCITED! Sambusa Day is coming up this Wednesday the 18th!! We will be chopping those fresh vegetables and making those delicious from-scratch fillings for you in less than 48 hours. All you have to do is order right now (see comment box for instructions), pick them up on Wednesday afternoon, and ENJOY!!!!

THIS WEDNESDAY, AUG 4, IS SAMBUSA DAY! You could have a plateful of your favorite flavors for dinner this very Wednesday if you get your orders in by noon on Tuesday, Aug 3. (Personally, we eat ours for breakfast with milk tea.) Pickup in Sunnymede; see order info in the comment box below. Made from scratch with the freshest ingredients, as authentic as though you had taken a trip to East Africa yourself! Don't forget, if you want to save yourself some extras to enjoy between Sambusa Days, they freeze well and reheat to golden crispy in 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Sambusa Day is here! We have been up since early morning preparing our fresh fillings from scratch and hand-making each sambusa for you. When each packet of deliciousness is perfect, we fry it to golden crispy perfection. That's what makes our sambusas "zaabu" -- golden! Coming soon to your plate. See you this afternoon! 🤩

You know what you've been missing? SAMBUSAS! But good news: Our next Sambusa Day is coming up this Wednesday, July 21st! Order by Tuesday at noon for pickup in the Sunnymede neighborhood (see instructions in comments below). Perfect for lunches, picnics, breakfasts, parties, or easy dinners. Kids love them! 🥳 Thanks, Sunnymede, for the amazing neighborhood firework show last night! We had a great Fourth of July, hope you all did too! Now it's time for the fireworks of flavor 🤣: less than twenty-four hours left to get your SAMBUSA order in for this Wednesday, July 7th. Choose from mild and spicy beef, or our vegan flavors of rice and pea, and don't forget our Golden Sauce on the side!

What is a "sambusa"? These savory triangles are stuffed with traditional fillings made from scratch from the freshest meat, peas, minced vegetables, spices, and no additives or preservatives, exactly the way we make them at home. Then we deep-fry them to golden crispy perfection. In East African cuisine, we aim for delicate flavors that bring out the freshness of each ingredient. We have ground beef (mild and spicy, and two vegetarian / vegan flavors (pea and rice). Each sambusa is handmade according to traditional recipes with love for you --- right here in South Bend! Your next chance to enjoy them is coming right up on WEDNESDAY JULY 7th. Get your order in by noon on Tuesday for pickup on Wednesday (instructions below)!

If you're planning a party later this month, we can even freeze them for you; they are easily reheated to golden crispy directly from the freezer to the oven.
