Did you know that chickens love to sunbathe just like us. Very often on warm sunny days I can look out and see them basking. And while you might take a dip in the pool to cool off after soaking in those rays, chickens love to cool down by taking a dust bath in the cool dirt. And just like kids who love to splash water watch out because they can really get the dirt flying.

Farmstand is closed today due to illness. We will be open tomorrow from 11-9.

Due to the open sided nature of our farm stand it will be closed today for produce because of the rain. The egg cooler will still be stocked and out. If the weather changes and dries up produce will be available and I will post on here. Stay dry today.

Did you know that the way tornado sirens work is outdated compared to our modern day cell phones. When the NWS issues a tornado warning it doesn’t matter what part of the county you live in ALL of the sirens will go off. This is unlike our cell phones that have geo locations and you will only receive emergency alerts if you are in the area of danger.

As part of my Master Gardener certification I had the opportunity to become a part of the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) and become a trained Storm Spotter. It’s really cool to learn more about how our weather and the atmosphere work.

We are out at the Niles Homegrown Market today from 9am to 2pm. Lots of produce and eggs. Stephanie also has some of her house plants here and available. Come see us and all the other amazing vendors.
