Several years ago I decided that I wanted to go back to the way I was raised....gardens, raising our own meat, doing what we could for ourselves. That dream was realized in July of 2017, with the purchase of a little over 13 acres. There is a lot to do in order to get where we want to be, and this page will document that. We were originally called "Bateman Homestead", but as we are getting to know our property and the area surrounding it, we fell in love with the fact that we are in the shadow of Green Mountain, and it's five tops. Thus the name Five Tops Farm. We hope you will enjoy our journey, and learn along with us.

That area I reseeded after the turkeys were gone, has decided I needed a crop of horse w**d. Instead of letting my son mow it, I will try and pull as much as possible. Slow going but Im getting there. Last night's rain made the soil soft, so most of it is coming up easily. There's just a lot of it, and I dont want it to go to seed.
