Well, the dahlias are still alive, but they are tired. Saying goodbye is hard, but these beauties need rest and I have a lot of work to do in order to ensure they come back next year.
The last of dahlias are now on the stand. Thank you all for a better season than I ever expected!

The field is still full of color! I haven’t had the time to make bouquets, but I’ve been trying to at least keep dahlias on the stand.
You-pick is available. The jars and snips are kept under the field canopy.
I also have some sad news…

I may be too trusting, after 5 years, I’ve never had an issue, but recently someone broke my roadside stand cash box and took money. I just want to believe that they needed the money more than I did.
I dont believe they found joy in the process considering the fact that they left their blood as evidence, which will help for the police report. I’ll leave the picture in the comments.

A frost may hit us early tomorrow morning and we will be forced to say goodbye to all of our beautiful dahlias. I will be out in the field double checking to ensure they are labeled correctly and then doing possibly the last cut of the season. The stand is full 💃🏽

Here’s an update
It’s time to admit something…. I like to tell myself that I can do all the things, but I really can’t.
With all the kids in school now, we decided that it would be a good time for me to finally go back to school. Getting my social work degree was something that I’ve always wanted to accomplish. Helping others has been a lifelong passion of mine. My hope is to one day merge this passion and the love I have for sharing joy through flowers. I’m not exactly sure what that will look like, but for now, I am trying to give myself grace while I attempt to navigate the new changes. I appreciate all of you for being so understanding with how inconsistent I have been regarding the farm.
For now, it is less stressful for me to fill the stand with random sized bouquets and keeping it “pay what you can”. Doing it this way allows me to keep the stand full and refocus on the joy of it all, instead of feeling the pressure of the numbers.
I am choosing Joy
