Hi Friends, One of the most rewarding aspects of Jewell Towne Vineyards was the friendships we developed over the years. Raquel was one of our fabulous interns from UNH who is now in New Zealand with a highly sophisticated and successful skill set in viticulture. We just reconnected on her terroir.

Hi Friends!
We miss you! We harvested Seyval and Cayuga today. We have just enough vines to manage and harvest with family. Here are son Trevor, wonderful daughter-in-law Bettie, and our grandchildren. We see daughter and family in Denver frequently.
We are still at it!
Wishing you all well and warm wishes.

Family, Friends, Neighbors, Animal Hospital Employees, and Friends of Jewell Towne Vineyards,
Many of you were fond of our family member and beloved cat Cimmi. Cimmi is now in the great big knitting ball in the sky chasing heavenly mice. We bid Cimmi farewell today at over 21 years old, the human equivalent of over 100 years old. Apart from being a great companion, he was astonishingly brave, personable, and adventurous. He’d make the rounds visiting neighbors for socialization and treats. He loved being in the vineyard and winery, lying under the vines keeping Peter company, socializing with a room full of visitors in the tasting room, or being the subject of his column “In Cimmi’s World” published in our monthly Jewell Towne Newsletter. We had to warn customers to check their cars, lest they drive away with Cimmi because he liked to jump into open cars and go for car rides. He loved kids. He frequently entertained kids in the winery while their parents sampled our wine. He sat on the piano bench and was an appreciative audience when Brenda played the piano. We responded to his every need and doted on him. We liked to joke that he had concierge service. We’ll always remember Cimmi. Thank you for caring about him, too.

Hi Friends,
On this anniversary of September 11, we honor those who lost their lives, the police, fire, rescue, and those who subsequently served to stem terrorism and violence.
Just as radical extremism has threatened our country, it's threatening NH in the guise of a cult movement called the Free Staters. If you have access, please read about it in the following link.
https://www.bostonglobe.com/2022/09/03/metro/free-staters-seek-undo-nh-government-within/?event=event12
The Free Staters sponsored a bill seeking a constitutional amendment for New Hampshire to secede from the union, they seek to dismantle our public shools, they view democracy as the enemy, and they seek to overtake and dismantle state government. Most people haven't even heard of the Free Staters. If you are interested, please read this cautionary tale about the dangers of the Free Staters: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/10/us/croydon-free-state-politics.html
Brenda is running for State Senate to protect our democracy from this nascent threat, to support public education, and to work for Democrats, Undeclared Voters, and Republicans alike to protect the qualities of NH we've come to love. Brenda's opponent has voted with the Free State agenda.
Brenda has devotion to and an acute awareness that Democracy isn't free. Brenda's father and uncles fought in WWII. We owe so much to our servicemen many of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice. Brenda's campaign and work is to preserve our democratic values of equal rights and opportunity, liberty, and justice for all.
Campaigning for a return to civility, common sense, and a government that works for everyone isn't easy. Brenda needs your help. Would you please consider supporting Brenda's campaign, either by sending a check to Oldak for NH, 65 Jewell St, South Hampton, NH 03827 or contributing using the following link: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/oldak-for-nh-1

Cimmi is doing well and is our constant companion and campaign assistant. He likes Brenda's lawn sign color purple because it reminds him of grapes, but also recognizes that New Hampshire is a "purple state" with a pretty even distribution of Republicans, Democrats and Undeclared Voters - so doesn't it make sense we should all get along, rather than fight like "cats and dogs?!"
