When the grapes come in late you just have to crush it in the dark! Harvest takes a lot of work at all hours. We couldn’t do harvest without the help of my sister Rita ❤️

As we head into the harvest season, I am obsessed with grape juice chemistry, ripeness, grape rot, etc. Why go to all of this trouble to make w**e from fresh grapes?? Pinot Noir is coming in beautiful this Friday! Our first red grape for the season AND our first Michigan Pinot Noir ever 🍷❤️

This has been a challenging growing season, but our growers are amazing. They are bringing in some stellar fruit for us. There are limited quantities this year, so we are feel very lucky!!

Join us outside of Buchanan to pick the first grapes of the season!!

Let’s bring a bit of European harvest tradition into our own neighborhood. Two local up‑and‑coming w**emakers, Sherry Seston of Veritas Estate in South Haven and Gottfried Hart of Dreihart in Three Oaks, will be picking Pinot Noir here in the neighborhood on Monday. In old Europe, friends and neighbors would gather to help each other bring in the harvest, and we’re doing the same.

Harvest runs from 10am to 2pm, followed by crushing, pressing, and a thank‑you barbeque at Gottfried’s place. The food will be prepared by Chef Tim, Sherry’s husband, whose cooking anchors the great meals at their B&B in South Haven.
