💚 GRATITUDE MONDAY: Golf, generosity and a whole lot of gratitude from CHAMP. ⛳

❤️A huge CHAMP thank-you to the Milton Arrowhead Eagles #4218, all the sponsors and everyone who made the 12th Annual David Lee Stewart Golf Tournament at Enosburgh Golf Course such a great day!

❤️And a special shout-out to Kevin Steady and his amazing team of volunteers (Lise Gates, Sara Combs, Harley Sterling, Bill Atherton, Paul Poquette and Gary Estus), who put in so much time and effort behind the scenes to make it all happen. We are so grateful for all you did.

🎉Congratulations to Shawn Thibault who won the raffle for the Red Sox tickets generously donated by Burnett Scrap Metals.

There was golf, laughter, friendly competition and plenty of fun. ⛳💚

And at the heart of it all was support for CHAMP’s riders, therapy horses and adaptive riding program. 🐴

💚 Meet to our summer UVM interns, Alyx West and Hadley Platt! 🐴

Both are entering their senior year at UVM and bring a wonderful mix of knowledge, kindness and enthusiasm to CHAMP. University of Vermont Dressage Team University of Vermont

Alyx is studying Animal Science and Equine Studies, with honors research focused on therapeutic riding.

Hadley is studying Exercise Science and plans to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

We are so fortunate to have Alyx and Hadley learning, volunteering and sharing their talents with the CHAMP family this summer

❤️🌾 MONDAY GRATITUDE! Grateful for Our 2026 Hay Crew Heros ❤️🌾

On one very hot summer afternoon, this incredible group showed up to unload CHAMP’s hay supply for the coming year.

There was hard work, plenty of laughter, great vibes and more than a little hay stuck to everyone by the end.

Hot, tired and still smiling, they proved once again that teamwork really does make the dream work.

Because of their efforts, our therapy horses will have the quality hay they need to stay healthy, strong and ready to care for our riders throughout the year.

❤️ We are deeply grateful to this amazing crew. CHAMP could not care for our horses without volunteers like them. ❤️

💚 Meet Amanda Ryan, CHAMP’s newest PATH International Instructor in Training! 🐴

A Champlain Islands native now living in South Hero, Amanda first began riding with Jean in 1985. Horses have been at the heart of her life ever since.

Amanda has taught riders in Vermont and Florida and is a longtime leader in the Vermont Morgan Horse Association. She has served as President and Vice President, remains an active board member and was named Vermont Morgan Horse Woman of the Year in 2010.

She earned her degree in Equine Science from UVM, where she managed the Student Equestrian Facility, mentored students, competed on the equestrian team and received the UVM Award for Excellence in Equine Studies.
As Amanda shared, “Horses have an incredible way of bringing people together.”

We are so fortunate to have her growing with CHAMP. Please join us in giving Amanda a warm welcome! 💚

Some gifts carry a story that stays with you.

Mike Cornell stopped by CHAMP and generously donated $1,000 in honor of his beloved therapy horse, Teddy.

Mike shared that Teddy seemed to be telling him it was time to visit CHAMP again. Whether horses speak in words or through the love they leave behind, we understood exactly what he meant.

Our summer sessions are full, and more riders are waiting for their chance to experience this special horse-human connection.
