Photography is such an art and hiring the best photogs for your wedding is so important! Claire Marika Photography is one of the absolute best! I love her style, her eye for the perfect shot, and I'm so lucky that she sent me these amazing photos of a dried flower wedding cake I made for the Cactus & Tropicals open house a few weeks back. Bring on color and flowers this wedding season!

It's been forever since I posted so why not start back up on May 4th? Amy ordered this lego Millennium Falcon cake for a bridal shower years ago and it's still one of my favorite Star Wars themed cakes. I remember it taking hours and hours to shape, make each piece, get that Lego texture, and get the detailing right out of marshmallow fondant. I loved how it turned out and so did this little fella' that I saw checking out the cake after I delivered it. So adorable!!

Can we all just do this today? Let's just get drunk on cake and have a nice long sugar nap.

This is a total throwback to one of Kallie's birthday cakes many, many years ago. I remember having so much fun making the white chocolate unicorn bark, Fruity Pebble rice krispie treats cut into shapes, cupcakes, sugar flowers, and more. I bet they were picking off snacks from this cake for days on end.

Do you remember Keroppi? I used to love Keroppi back in the day so this was a total throwback for me. Desire's daughter wanted a very specific cake with vintage piping, real bows, and just "Happy Birthday!" written at the base. You got it! :) She chose a chocolate strawberry cake covered in buttercream with an edible image of Keroppi on top. I love how it turned out and it totally took me back!

I haven't posted in a hot minute but I delivered this wedding cake on Saturday to a venue I've never been to and I was absolutely stunned by how beautiful the Madison in Ogden was so I just have to share. Angie contacted me about her daughter's wedding cake and wanted an all white floral design but I didn't realize what a showstopper this case setup would be. From the damask wallpaper to the marble floors to the tall mirrors to the original gold elevator, the Madison was giving real vintage Parisian vibes. I told Angie that I wish I could have stayed and enjoyed such an elegant evening with her beautiful family. It... Was... Stunning! 😍😍

At the end of every year, I like to look through all of my orders for the year and reflect back on the amazing clients I've worked with and fun cake creations I've been able to make. This year was full of color, creative themes, and so much buttercream. From mermaids to vintage hearts to Legend of Zelda castles and trees, I've loved making every single one of my cakes this year. Thank you to my clients, some who have been with me since year one, for trusting me with your special events. I've watched kids grow up through these cakes, friends celebrate momentous occasions, and couples dedicate their lives to each other. I feel incredibly lucky. Your support for my little business means more than I can ever express.

Here's to 2026! I hope your year is filled with family, love, celebrations, and lots of sugar!

Shannon wanted a unique wedding cake for their reception at the Castle at Wadley Farms, one that represents their shared interests in all things fantasy. We went back and forth on a few different ideas and then came up with a blue shimmered dragon scale design, a Lord of the Rings tier complete with silver inscription, and some awesome dragon toppers. On the top tier, I replicated the JRR Tolkien signature monogram but incorporated their initials instead.

They chose Almond Dream Crunch Cake (vanilla cake layered with sliced almonds and white chocolate ganache) and Raspberries & Buttercream (vanilla cake with raspberry filling and buttercream) for their flavors and the cake was covered in marshmallow fondant with hand piped Tengwar font on the ring.

I loved how this one turned out and I always love when cakes are more personal. Congratulations, you two!!
