Today's Bumpus Farm countdown spotlight is something that's become a perfect snack for a day at the Oxford Fair

We're excited to once again partner with Mac's Gourmet Popcorn and bring several of their delicious flavors to the Bumpus Farm Sugar Shack!

This year we'll have:

Whether you're looking for something sweet, salty, cheesy — or, of course, MAPLE — we've got a bag waiting for you!

We're proud to work with other local businesses like Mac's Gourmet Popcorn and give them a spot alongside all of the Bumpus Farm goodies you'll find at the Sugar Shack.

We're officially ONE WEEK AWAY!

For today's Bumpus Farm countdown, how about a little MAPLE TRIVIA?

Did you know maple sap doesn't come out of the tree looking anything like maple syrup?

Fresh maple sap is mostly water and is usually clear and only slightly sweet. It's through the boiling process — removing much of that water and concentrating the natural sugars — that it becomes the rich, sweet maple syrup we all know and love!

At Bumpus Farm, we collect the sap from our maple trees and bring it to our friends at Slattery Farm & Maple Syrup Co. where it's boiled down into delicious Pure Maine Maple Syrup.

That syrup is at the heart of so many of the products we bring to the fair!

🍁 9 DAYS UNTIL THE OXFORD FAIR! 🍁

Yesterday we talked about our Maple Creemees… today we're going back to where it all begins — the maple tree!

At Bumpus Farm, maple season starts with collecting sap from our trees right here in Maine. But turning all of that sap into the maple syrup you know and love takes a little teamwork!

We're proud to partner with Slatterys Farm and Maple Supplies 🍁

Throughout maple season, we collect the sap and bring it to Slattery's, where it's boiled down and transformed into pure Maine maple syrup.

And there's a LOT of sap involved!

DID YOU KNOW?
It takes roughly 40 gallons of maple sap to make just ONE gallon of maple syrup, depending on the sugar content of the sap.

That's a lot of collecting, hauling and boiling before that gallon ever makes it into a bottle!

We're incredibly thankful for our partnership with Slattery Farm & Maple Syrup Co. and for getting to work together to turn something as simple as sap from a Maine maple tree into something pretty special.

And that syrup becomes the foundation for so many of the things you'll find from Bumpus Farm — from bottles of pure maple syrup to some of the maple treats you'll find at the Sugar Shack!

And we're kicking off our countdown by highlighting a favorite that made its Bumpus Farm debut last year… the MAPLE CREEMEE

So, what exactly is a Maple Creemee?

The creemee is a tradition with roots in Vermont. While it may look like regular soft serve, a creemee is known for being extra rich, smooth and buttery — and, of course, ours is all about that REAL maple flavor.

Last year, we decided Vermont shouldn't get to have all the fun… so Bumpus Farm brought the Maple Creemee to Maine and the Oxford Fair! 😉

It was our first year serving them, and judging by how many of you came back for another one, bringing them back this year was an easy decision!

If you had one last year, you already know what we're talking about.

If you didn't… you've got **10 days** to get ready! 😋

Bumpus Farm is excited to be back again this year, running the Sugar Shack!

We’ll have plenty of your favorites returning:

We are excited to have our friends at The Bread Box back with their delicious breads!

But we’ve also been busy this year, and we’re bringing some NEW things to the Sugar Shack.

We’re not ready to give everything away just yet… but let’s just say we’ll have a couple of new ways to cool you down while you’re walking around the fair. 🧊😉

And that’s not the only new thing coming!
