Luna Bleu Farm

Luna Bleu is a diversified organic farm in central Vermont. We, Tim Sanford and Suzanne Long, have been farming on this land in South Royalton since 1993.

Before that we farmed in South Strafford, Vt and Lebanon, NH. Each year we are joined by a crew of hardworking apprentices and local employees and often our son and daughter, Lucas and Shona. Together we produce a wide variety of organic vegetables. We also raise cows, pigs and poultry organically. In the spring, many gardeners purchase healthy, organic plants from us. In the fall, we harvest and

store a wide variety of root crops, onions, cabbages and garlic for our winter CSA and winter markets. We also begin planting again in our greenhouses for an exciting array of greens in the cold winter months.

From early Thursday morning

As I post this we are sitting at SAVES hoping Chuy makes it through an emergency surgery to save his life from a twisted stomach.
We don’t how we will pay for this, but we couldn’t not at least try.

If you’re able to help in any small way it would mean so much to us.

THE UPDATE:
The surgery seems to have gone well and Chuy is recovering under veterinary care.
We are all hoping to have the gentle giant lean against us for a loving pat again soon.

Finally! We have enough winter spinach to bring to market again!! If you haven’t tried our sweet tasty spinach, you’re in for a treat…. We have a good amount but don’t come too late😊

This SUNDAY 4-7 Burger Night in Tunbridge.

We are excited to have Rose Hip Jam providing the musical entertainment at Burger Night in Tunbridge this week. Rose Hip Jam is a trio - Kerry Rosenthal, Steve Glazer, and Eric Bronstein. Two guitars, two voices and a bass. They play fun songs from the 1930s all the way up to the present, in just about every style - folk, country, blues, rock, jazz… Sounds like a great complement to the good food and company that is always a part of Burger Nights in Tunbridge.

This week Brocklebank Craft Brewery will selling a variety of craft brews on tap and Flying Dog Farm will have their special non-alcoholic Aguas that you can purchase with your meal. Dinners featuring Flying Dog Farm certified organic grass-fed beef, (or a house made veggie burger!), Luna Bleu Farm's organic salad greens and tomatoes, homemade french fries.

If you haven't made it yet this summer... well, what are you waiting for... it's lots of fun and just a great connection to our local agriculture and the folks who grow your food.

RSVP isn't required, but it does help all the food and drink providers plan so if you can, RSVP at www.flyingdogfarmvt.com but don't hesitate to just show up.

Luna Bleu Farm in South Royalton is open for plant sales this weekend and next weekend.
Saturdays 1-5pm
Sundays noon-4pm ( so you can go to Burger Night in Tunbridge after!!)
TOMATOES are our specialty. We have these big well established plants that will give you a jump on our short season or you can go with the younger plants in 4” pots. All are healthy, organic and ready to go into your garden.

We have peppers, eggplant, herbs and more for your garden.

Hope to see ya at the farm in the afternoon or at the Norwich Farmers Market Saturday morning.

Time to start planting your garden. We will be bringing lots of healthy organic tomato plants to the Norwich Farmers Market Saturday plus basil and other herbs, lettuces, onions and even some flowers. Sunday 1-5 you can come directly to the farm and select from our full array. You can also save a little with farm cash/check sales!
Farm will also be open next Saturday 1-5 and Sunday noon to 4.

It’s been that kinda spring!!! But here at the farm we are still just as busy seeding and transplanting in the greenhouses and even in the field. (First spinach with a row cover and then a snow cover!) … I guess I have been too busy to take pictures of the plants!!! So, keep a look out for our next post. In the meantime, keep the faith— Spring IS coming 🌱☀️🌱🐣🌱☀️
