It’s that time of year again. We had our shearer Gwen here today to get the sheep shorn before lambing. We are expecting lambs a little earlier this year than years past.

Update on the hatching duck eggs:
9 of the 10 eggs started in the incubator hatched and the ducklings are doing well. We did assist a couple with the hatching process which in the past with chicken eggs we have not found works out well, but we felt we had to try. To our surprise it all worked out well.

Day 15. Pekin Duck

We decided to try hatching ducks. We have a male/female pair of Peking and Black Runner Ducks. So far all 10 eggs we put in the incubator are viable as of day 7. 21 more days to go.
