Hello all! Spring honey is just around the corner. We had a great year last year and are looking forward to a productive 2026. Thanks to everyone who bought honey from us; it’s always a lot of fun meeting new and old buyers and seeing what the bees work up each year.

As an early announcement for 2026, I’ll be selling a limited amount of nucs (nucleus colonies) for those interested in starting their own hives. Each includes a 5-frame bee box, 5 frames of brood/honey, and an overwintered queen. If you're interested, feel free to PM me!

Hello everyone!
Honey production has been in full swing over the past few weeks, and we have plenty available!

**Quick update for my Chillicothe friends:**
The Jaycee Golf Course is now selling Cottrill Colonies honey! Stop by, enjoy a round of golf, and grab a bottle on your way out.

As always, thank you for supporting this little hobby of mine. I always enjoy talking with people about bees and sharing natures gifts!

**We’ve got honey!** 🐝
I harvested over 600 pounds this last round, so I’m confident there’s more than enough to go around this time!

I’ll be out delivering in **Greenfield this Friday**—if you’d like to be added to the list, just send me your address. I accept Venmo or cash, and I’d be happy to drop it off to you Friday.

I’m also working on getting the honey into a couple of new local spots. More details on that soon!

Also, just want to say thanks for the support. I really enjoy sharing what the bees cook up with everyone!

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for all the support on my last post — I nearly sold out overnight! Since then, I’ve done a second honey pull and am still working through a list of people who’ve reached out. The honey has been absolutely beautiful this year!

The locust bloom wasn’t quite what I’d hoped for, but the wild berries and the clover seeded on the farm have more than made up for it.

If I told you I’d put you on the list, don’t worry — I haven’t forgotten you. I’m planning another honey pull this weekend, so there’ll be more coming soon.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!

Hello all!
It’s shaping up to be a great honey year! I was lucky enough to harvest some early spring honey from a few of my best hives. This batch comes from the blossoms of our fruit trees and early spring blooms around the farm. Supplies are limited, so if you'd like to try some before it’s gone, please send me a message!

I’m also expecting to make my first pull of locust honey in the coming weeks—and it’s already looking like the biggest harvest I’ve ever had!

Thank you all so much for your continued support. I can’t wait for you to taste this year’s honey!

Hello all! We would like to apologize for the lack of presence on this page within the past year, as we are growing our family and just were not able to keep up with the Bees last summer. But this year we have lots of ambitions and are excited to provide delicious honey for you all! We’re looking into some more local areas to sell our honey as well to make it more convenient for our customers, so we will keep you all updated on those locations as time goes on. We appreciate your support and look forward to harvesting honey to share with all of you this spring! 🐝

Hello all! A couple announcements.

For those waiting on fall honey. Unfortunately I will not be offering any this year. Ohio weather did what it’s known for, and I never received a good fall nectar flow. Not enough at least for the bees to share. I don’t use sugar water, just a personal belief. Not a stab at people who do. But I think it jeopardizes my end product, of wanting to offer 100% real nectar, real honey. If I do feed sugar water at any point during a year to a hive, I will not harvest the honey from that hive. So I decided to let the bees keep what they worked for and I’ll try again next year. Looking forward to a productive spring!

On that same note. I have 8 bottles of spring honey not spoken for, and I’m afraid that is it! It was an incredible first year. I had over 700 pounds of honey and I never dreamed I’d go through it all. Thank you to everyone who bought Cottrill Colonies Honey! It’s been such a joy to see so many people trying and loving the honey. Thank you all again for the support.

A little appreciation post and some exciting news. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has liked the page, and bought honey since my first announcement. It’s been incredible seeing so many enjoy the honey. It took quite a few years to get to this point, and I’m so thankful to be able to share it with my community. Speaking of community, I have been working with partnering with a locally owned business in Chillicothe! Official announcement to follow soon, but I’m very excited to be supplying them honey! 🍯 🐝
