At the farm, we are still concentrating on beekeeping, particularly on networking and supporting beekeepers and on educational opportunities for those in or thinking of entering beekeeping.
If you plan to start beekeeping next spring, taking a class from local beekeepers BEFORE buying any equipment or bees helps avoid costly and disappointing mistakes. The next Beginner class via Zoom starts 6:30PM Tuesday Oct. 7th. Powerpoint presentations are recorded so students can catch up on missed sessions but Q&A post-presentation is not recorded.
The same week, intermediate and advanced level classes also start. If you are interested in classes and support from Western Washington Beekeepers, please call/text 206-859-7392 or email [email protected]. More information and registration/payment can be found at www.snokingbka.org/classes .
Classes start now in October so that we can finish these in-depth sessions before the holidays. Fees also cover the hands-on outdoor component of beekeeping education in the basic Maltby Apiary classes.
