You are formally invited to the 50th Biennial Foster Family Reunion of the descendents of William and Eunice Foster - our 102nd year! Dinner will be served at 12:30. Hotdogs/buns, corn on the cob, beverages and popsicles or ice cream will be provided. Please bring a main dish, salad or dessert for the pot luck table. Come see the changes on the farm and to the farm house. Enjoy catching up on family news, meeting the newest members of the family! Highlights will be: Games (corn hole, can jam, volleyball, etc), memory table, photos galore! Please bring items or mementos of historic interest to share.

Special this year: Molasses cookie cook off!
Those with long memories may remember Aunt May's (Barber) famous molasses cookies. Some have had the recipe passed down, but changes have been made through the years (some of us suspect the Barbers held back some secret ingredients when they shared to the cousins). Maybe you have her recipe, or one you found on your own. Either way, bring a batch to share and claim your title!
There will be a panel of judges determined to award the Judges Award, as well as a People's Choice award that will be based on donations. So, even if you aren't competing, bring a couple extra dollars to vote for your favorites!

We are REALLY trying to spread the word paperlessly to as many family members as possible!!! Please share this invite via facebook/email with your individual families!! We will also be sharing a sign up for an email list both before and at the reunion for those not on Facebook.

It’s hard to believe the 4th is almost here! We are looking forward to seeing the family on Monday! A few reminders as we get closer to the day:

Weather:
The forecast for Monday is looking beautiful and warm! While there’s some natural shade from the trees at the farm and we will have a few canopies (mostly for the food), you are certainly welcome to bring an umbrella or pop-up of your own.

Games and Activities:
There will be the usual assortment of yard games for grown ups and kids alike, and even a few new ones. However, the amazing Lynnie, who has done our kids activities the last few reunions, will not be able to do the same this year. While we have a few *much* younger volunteers to help with activities, we will be more limited on activities than in past years. If you have a younger kiddo, please let us know!

Merchandise:
We have some of the original “crest” t-shirts and mugs still available in some sizes. Additionally, we are working on a new t-shirt design for this year that will be available for sale on Monday. All proceeds will go back into the reunion committee coffers to help fund future year reunions.

Food
As usual, the committee will be grilling hot dogs, bbq, corn, providing water and punch, and a frozen dessert. Please bring a side, main or dessert to share (we love variety!) and feel free to bring your own beverages.

Planning for our 2022 reunion has begun! This is a big one, as it’s the 200th anniversary of the homestead. I’ve sent an email out to the committee members that I have email addresses for. If you believe you should have received an email and didn’t, please reach out!

As our family knows, these are unprecedented times we are living in. The reunion committee has carefully monitored the situation with Covid-19 in Connecticut. Given the current projections, as well as the state's social distancing guidelines, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Biennial Reunion. We will certainly miss seeing you all at the farm, but we feel the safety and health of all our family should be our first priority.

We look forward to seeing you in 2022 for the 200th anniversary celebration. If you have any ideas to help commemorate 200 years, or to make the celebration a special one, please reach out to the reunion committee. We welcome any and all input!

Does anyone have pictures of the old swing in the maple tree at the farm that you could share?! We have a member looking to make some crafts and needs the image. We hope that everyone in the Foster clan is healthy and staying safe!❤🕊
