I’ll be teaching folks how to shuck oysters at North Fork Brewing Co this Friday. Come along and learn or just to hang and drink some fine local brews! Hope to see you there.
Have you tried to open oysters but struggled? Do you want to meet a Long Island oyster farmer? Do you like to eat oysters but you are intimidated by opening them?
Attending New York Sea Grant's Oyster Shucking Workshop can help with this!

A paid registration for this workshop will provide:
• Hands-on training & practice opening (also known as “shucking”) oysters
• 1 dozen oyster to be shucked during the workshop
• An oyster shucking knife & gloves
• An insulated tote bag for transporting local seafood
• An opportunity to meet with an oyster farmer & learn about their farm
• A variety of aquaculture & seafood resources, stickers, & magnets
