The current inquiry into abuse by prominent national rider
makes me sick especially since this is going on "down the road." There should be repercussions and sanctions in place to prevent and protect our equine residents.

At the same time poorly kept horses (often in most lovely settings and sometime in dismal places) as well as abuse and neglect is also going on "down the road." Publishing information and reporting abuse is a first step in addressing the less than humane situations of our four legged friends in our "horse community." However, stricter laws governing all animal abuse would be a more comprehensive way to protect. While we lobby for such, let us all be more diligent in addressing abuse in our communities. Thank you to those who shared information of this recent issue.

The first woman to orbit the Moon is an NC State grad. 🌕👩‍🚀🚀

NASA announced today that three-time NC State alumna Christina Koch will go to the Moon as part of the Artemis II Moon crew. Koch will be the first woman to orbit the Moon. She previously made history when she set the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman — with a total of 328 days in space — and completed the first all-female spacewalk.
