New face around here! I had no plans to buy a new herdsire this year but this guy popped up on FB and I kinda had to have him.. sharing about his dam, I’ll do a different post for his sire. I’ll also maybe get some better pictures of Sinbad too (so dark an gloomy this wknd😭)

His dam is quite impressive and from a strong line of well showing does who perform well in the milk pail! Her record speaks for itself 🙂
She is also making a pretty big splash this 2026 season as well..keep an eye out for the 2026 elite milking list👀

Every year the herd gets tested for CAE. I try to time the test a couple months before kidding starts so I know the milk is clear before the kids get it, whether I Dam raise or bottle feed. Most years I’m doing both options🙃
There’s a few of good reasons to pasteurize and bottle feed kids that don’t have to do with CAE but CAE is definitely one of the big reasons.

Wanda finally kidded with the biggest kid I have ever seen! Weighted 15lbs! Normal birth weights are between 6-10lbs, 12lbs being a common very large kid.
Praying Wanda continues to recover, she is very swollen and sore but acting normal
