I have to brag on Shannon a little. She was out looking for one of our last two cows to calve. One was carrying an embryo. She finally found her hidden on the back side of a pond. As she drove up she saw the Cow was looking at the pond. As she got closer she saw the calf down the embankment in the waterwith his head being the only part of his body above water. The temperature this morning was 37 degrees. She thought for sure he was dead until he moved his head. Shannon ran into the water thigh deep and pulled up the calf. The calf was extremely hypothermia. She called me and we got him in The warmer. We both thought he didn't have much of a chance. Fast forward to this evening he is standing. Shannon is truly amazing and she loves her animals. I am a lucky man to have her as a partner in life! I just wish we had some pictures.
