We refreshed the chick brooder again! New bedding, water and food. The chicks are happy and growing fast!!

The bedding was provided by it is excellent and the chicks are quite comfortable in it.

What’s that old saying, no news is good news??

Well the chicks are behaving normally, and seemed in good health today!! Hopefully things are balancing out in the brooder now!

There are a few that are getting jumpy, so we may need to do some expansion soon.

This is a learning process.

Hard days, going from one death to multiple over three days. It’s not easy thinking you know what’s going on and then realizing you don’t. we have done what we know to do, and keep praying that will be enough.

I spent several hours in the brooder today observing and making adjustments. Helping the chicks learn to drink, and eat, and also cleaning them.

We think there were several factors that lead to this and have made adjustments and we will continue to monitor them as best as we are able to.

Adjustments such as: Ph balancer, electrolytes, better air ventilation, heat lamp adjustments, and new bedding.

These little chicks are tough, but also so delicate in the first week of life.

Stay tuned to see these little gals grow up!

Had an unfortunate death when we arrived today.

So we spent some extra time evaluating them, and we decided to add another waterer with some additional electrolytes to help give them a boost.

They are all mostly doing so well!! They even had some visitors today which they enjoyed 😊

I am loving how explorative these little chicks are! They are gonna be great on the pasture in a few weeks!!

Baby Chick Vlog Day 2

Everything looked great when we checked them today!!

We had a few butts to clean, but the food was stocked, water was clean, and all the chicks are alive!

They are so playful and energetic, and then they all crash and take a nap.
