Our girls are laying between 60-90 eggs daily! We have racked up eggs the past week so let’s get this fridge cleaned out. These have been washed and refrigerated. The more you buy, the more the price decreases.

•We have plenty of extra eggs this week for anyone interested.
•We also have some spots open for our weekly egg drop in town. If you’re interested contact us with any questions.
•We run our chickens on open pasture and move them weekly to fresh ground. They are fed 100% USDA Organic whole feed(unprocessed) made by KOFFI in Kentucky. We do this to make the most nutrient dense egg(food) possible for our customers and our family.
•They get no medicated feed or antibiotics.
•We use zero chemicals on our farm.

In the last few weeks, we have added 35 chickens to our flock. Some of our flock has aged out and their egg production is dropping off so it was time to purchase more to keep up with egg demands (thank you to our customers!). Here’s one of the beauties we got at the 4H chick chain auction yesterday. She’s a gorgeous Buff Orpington hen.

I was born in the mid 80’s and grew up in the 90’s. I always loved the huge swaths of birds filling our skies. During migration it was mind-blowing how large those flocks would be. They’d block out the sun much like a cloud casting a huge shade on the ground while I played outside. We have done so much damage to our ecosystem since WW2 and the invent of cheap fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides that’s killing us and them. What do you think is causing these things?

The chickens absolutely love digging apart those cow pats and searching for all the larvae. It puts a big dent in the fly population. If you didn’t know, flies are a major pest to cows and have been estimated to cost farmers more than 700 million per year in losses. We are a chemical free farm so we use every natural process possible and a good one is chickens. They’re magical little egg making machines with many purposes.

Some of you may know we have moved farms. We will be in search of a location for our egg drop in town for customer convenience. Until then we will try to meet you in town when you need eggs or you’re welcome to come to Cassville to our new address at 371 WB Heritage Lane Sparta, TN. I also wanted to share a few pictures of our animals at the new place. Thanks everyone for the continued business!
