UPDATE: We've taken appointments for all the trees that we can feasibly sell this year (there weren't many to start with). Please reach out to or visit our friends at Bullhead Choose and Cut. We look forward to being able to serve way more of you next year!

Hey friends - hopefully this is the last year that we have to do this, but we once again have to operate on a very limited basis. The field is full of trees, but they are maxing out at about 7 feet which is on the small side of what the average person wants in their home.

With that being said, for those of you who want a "big 'un" from the lower field, we got you. Reach out via email or messenger to let us know when you want to come.

Those of you who MUST have a pesticide free tree, if you can tolerate having one on the small side this year, reach out and we'll see how we can accommodate you as well.

We will still have wreaths and roping and can make wreaths to custom sizes to fit your needs.

We will also have a number of "Wreathmaking 101" classes for you and your friends/family to come in and have a wreath making party. You can wait and see what dates we have, or reach out and let us know what day/time works for your crew and we will make it happen.

We look forward to serving you ALL again soon!

Hey y'all - update as of 10/29 - All tree appointment slots for this season are full. We will have wreaths and roping though, if you are in the market for either.

If you didn't get a slot, please go check out our friends at Bullhead Choose and Cut.

The field is FULL of trees. But, as we always say, Fraser Firs are a long game and although we yell and stomp our feet at them, they grow at their own pace. We're looking forward to the day that we can be "wide open" once again and serve those of you that we haven't seen in a few years.

Hey friends - we will be opening back up on limited availability this year. Hopefully the last year that we'll have to do so. That said, we can start taking appointments for the week of Thanksgiving. Saturday the 23rd-Friday the 29th with the exception of Thanksgiving Day.

We will have wreaths and roping (better to know ahead of time what you need so that we can make sure to keep what you want on hand). We can also do specialty size wreaths.

If you have questions or want to make an appt, you can text Joel (336) 813-2929 or email [email protected]

For any of you who are interested in getting some pictures made up, Swan Creek Studios has two dates that they'll be doing mini sessions at River Hill Tree Farm. We've already worked with Heather and she was a dream to work with (especially with the kids). Her schedule has started to fill up so don't wait until it's too late.

Hey friends! Questions are starting to roll in so we wanted to keep you all informed. We will not be opening for the 2023 choose and cut season. We simply don't have any large trees. 2015 and 2016 were very difficult years to secure seedlings and that lull in planting has finally caught up to us.

A few of you last year got trees from the lower field, 18'+ trees. If y'all see this and want to harvest a "big 'un" again, shoot us a message and we'll get you squared away. Same goes for those of you that have to have a pesticide free tree. We'll do our best to get you something.

We are going to be doing wreaths and roping, so if you have a need there, reach out to us and we can accommodate you as well.

If Sparta is your place to get a tree, please consider touching base with Bullhead Choose and Cut. They are RIGHT off of HWY 21 before you ever get to Sparta and their trees are BEAUTIFUL.

And just so you know, we've got a LOT of trees in the ground. But Christmas trees are a slow game and it's going to take some time to get them ready to harvest. We hope that when they are ready, we'll get the chance to serve your family some Christmas memories.

We wrapped up our short season yesterday with an awesome group of folks participating in the Bronco Christmas Stampede. It was quite a sight to behold. All those beautiful Broncos with trees and wreaths adorning them.

We want to say thanks to those of you who were able to come see us this year. And to those we missed, we look forward to longer seasons with more trees to sell. We'll be there soon.

May you be able to slow down this Christmas season and enjoy the little things. Christmas books and movies with your kids. Fires in the fireplace. Perhaps a little snow....(I said what I said). And time reflecting and rejoicing in the reason for this season we celebrate. We wish you all the very best!

For those of you who were not able to secure an appointment with us for this season, our friends at bullhead choose and cut have created a page with more information about their farm. They are just getting started this year and would be a great place for you to get a tree. Check them out here: https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086786614362

Follow up to our last post about appointments being filled - We've received as many requests for trees since closing appointments as we did in the month that we were taking them. I'll happily blame Facebook for not showing you guys our posts (unless we pay them to do it.)

However, we are VERY tight on trees. If you are absolutely dead set on having one of our trees (you better have a LOT of decorations at home) then we can possibly accommodate you the week following Thanksgiving once everyone that has made an appointment has come through and gotten their trees. We will still have bunnies, we will still have hot chocolate, wreaths and perhaps roping. But believe me when I say that you are going to have to be very creative if you want one of the trees that will be left.

And if you are one of the families that come for the bunnies more than the trees, you might consider visiting one of our other farms in the county for a tree and then coming and seeing us. Believe me, if you roll into our lot with a tree already on your roof, we won't judge :) We just want you and your family to have a memorable experience in Alleghany County this season. And if we can be a part of that, then we'll be thrilled.

Just an update to let everyone know that our appointment slots for the 2022 season have been filled. It's never fun to have to turn away customers (especially those of you who have been with us through the years), but we simply don't have the inventory to take on any more appointments for this year.

We have a LOT of trees in the ground. The only thing is, trees take years (6-7+) to grow and mature into the size that the average consumer wants.

There's been talk for years about the Christmas Tree shortage. That shortage was problematic for us as we struggled to get seedlings in 2016-2017. That struggle will show itself next year as we most likely won't open at all for the 2023 season. There just won't be anything big enough to sell.

However, after that lull, we should have plenty of trees for the foreseeable future and can look forward to a season that is longer than 1 week.
