Is it late winter or are we in early spring yet? I don’t know but this what we are currently harvesting from the overwintered gardens. Spring planting is right around the corner. You can find this produce and more at in cookeville

Just finished building this propagation shed on the south side of our shop. This will serve as a place to start seedlings, grow succulents, play banjo, drink coffee etc. I borrowed some black 55 gallon barrels from (thanks Jeff) to serve as heat batteries on the northern wall, a set up I first saw down at Hidden Springs Nursery. Still need to install gutters, rain collection, pavers and most importantly a whirlygig.
We aim to have plants for sale in the coming weeks so please stay tuned!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled doom scrolling with some wholesome footage of a calf that was just born. This young buck needed a helping hand finding the sauce. He probably would have found it eventually, but in this cold, the sooner the better.

It’s been a great autumn in the carrot department. Ample rain and mild temps have made growing them a real treat.
It may seem as easy as throwing some seeds out on the ground and reaping the rewards but in reality I started preparing for this carrot crop over a year ago. Last winter I fed our cows round bales in what would become the carrot patch. This adds a ton of nutrients and organic matter, as well as compaction which was later alleviated with deep ripping. In the spring and summer I grew back to back cover crops, planted the carrots in late summer and voila!
Swing by and pick up some of the fruits of our labor.
