He made our dream a reality and we feel extremely blessed and grateful to be here. We feel that God opened our eyes to living more naturally and avoiding the many toxins that surround us to the best of our ability. The more we learn, the more we have realized that God has provided us with everything we need to live a quality, healthy life, but we (mankind) have developed many products to make our
lives easier and more convenient. As a result we have become more reliant on modern technologies to get us through our daily lives, and we are forgetting how to use the gifts that God has provided us with in nature. In addition some of these modern ways have proven to be detrimental to our health (Processed foods, gmo's, chemicals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, etc)
It is our goal to develop a sustainable homestead using as many God given natural methods as possible. How did our farm get its name? God gave us the name! We wanted to name our farm something that would represent our methods of farming and give honor to God. We prayed on finding the name that God would want us to use. The next day I asked my 11 year old son to randomly pick a scripture out of bible and he quickly chose Psalm 23, but he didnt know the scripture. We opened the bible and were blown away to find the title: "The Good Shepherd" followed by a scriptures that teaches us to depend on the Lord for everything and put His ways first in our life. Wow, how amazingly perfect this scripture is to respresent our farm and what we are trying to accomplish using Gods ways! We hope to be Good Shepherds to our animals, our gardens, and everything that God has entrusted to us. Psalm 23: The Good Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23:1-6
