We are second generation ranchers operating in Spearfish valley and in the Black Hills National Forest. We have had an independent beef operation since 1988 focusing on Black Angus based beef production. We have tried to maintain a balance of utilizing new technology such as ultrasound testing and artificial insemination (A.I.) and the traditional animal husbandry methods of running cattle on past

ures and fields utilizing forage to maintain a balanced feed ration. and ultrasound testing, along with collecting harvest carcass data, we have been able to breed the cattle to have a premium beef product. While the grass-finished natural beef are only a part of our operation, animals are identified and kept separate ensuring the meat labeled as grass-finished is truly grass-finished. The grain finished beef are fed a corn and alfalfa hay ration focusing on developing a premium natural meat product. We feel that our personal attention to genetic selection, carcass testing and care of livestock delivers an optimum dining experience.
