Now I need your help! It would be so functional to include a section in here for my dairy ladies. I’m looking for layouts, designs, visual things of what works and doesn’t work or thoughts you’d do differently. Tag your show goat friends, your dairy goaties- whoever! Let’s plan this! 🤩

So naturally I’m starting the breeding season today & tomorrow. However, with the summer heat our older boys might not be as productive until it cools down longer.

You see overgrown weeds in a neglected yard, but you don’t see

The yellow finches with hiding spots,
A Woodpecker,
Grasshoppers to feed the chameleon,
Monarchs and swallowtails,
Katydids,
Praying mantis,
Dragonflies,
A real nice apple harvest growing,
Medicinal plants like wild lettuce and plantain etc.
A big hole awaiting a new septic 😂
And of course, goat food.

There’s more out there than a manicured lawn 😘

It’s been a little over 4 weeks since the guineas hatched. They’ve been escaping out of the brooder, so might as well open it up.

After about 3 days of them chirping for mom after being in the brooder, I caved, unplugged the heat lamp and brought in a bonded adult pair to look over them. They’ve been raising this clutch of however many and been doing great. The world can be big, scary and tough but not as much as a mama Guinea coming at you 🤣

Did you know guineas mate for life 🥺

Out of 20 kits, only 5 are does 😂🙃Countdown until first breeding in 2 weeks as we typically breed August through April.
