Grays Creek Farm

Grays Creek Farm 100% Grass Fed Lamb Meat Welcome to Grays Creek Farm page. We also offer, rhubarb, farm fresh eggs, honey, maple syrup and jam.

We purchased this property in the summer of 2013 and have “built” a Pick-your-Own strawberry farm. We follow organic practices, which is especially important with Strawberries, because they are number one on the “dirtiest fruit & vegetable list” using conventional sprays! By "liking” and “sharing” our page, you will get the most up to date information on when the strawberries are ready fo

r picking, our hours, prices, etc. Follow our growth, as we add blueberries, raspberries and currants.

Hi everyone,

We wanted to remind everyone that we no longer offer pick-your-own strawberries. This was a difficult decision for us, but it was ultimately made in the best interests of our farm and our well being

As you know, strawberry picking is a labor-intensive process. As we age, keeping up became harder. In addition, our planting costs increased dramatically making it difficult for us to continue offering strawberries at a price that is both fair to our customers and sustainable for our farm.

Over the years we enjoyed meeting you and watching your families grow. We are so grateful for your support! Your patronage helped us grow and thrive over the years.

Best wishes to you and your families

ATTENTION LAMB LOVERS!
We're excited to announce that our 100% grass-fed lamb is now available! Our lambs are raised on pasture year-round, which means they are free to roam and graze on fresh grasses and herbs. This results in meat that is not only delicious, but also healthier and more sustainable.

Here are a few reasons why you should try our 100% grass-fed lamb:
• Higher in nutrients: Grass-fed lamb has higher levels of beneficial nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
• Better for the environment: Raising animals on pasture is better for the environment as it reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes healthy soil.
• Supports local farmers: By choosing our grass-fed lamb, you are supporting local farmers who care about the welfare of their animals and the environment.
• Safer meat: State-inspected facilities must comply with strict guidelines and regulations, which means that our lamb meat is safe for consumption and free from harmful pathogens.

So why not switch up your dinner routine and try our 100% grass-fed lamb tonight? We have a range of cuts available, from chops to roasts, so there's something for everyone.

Pricing
• Lamb chops - $24/lb.
• Leg Steak/Leg of Lamb - $15/lb.
• Shank - $15/lb.
• Stew meat – $12/lb.
• Ground - $10/lb.

If interested, send me a direct message and we will figure out a way to get you your lamb!

EASTER LAMB
We have 3 Lambs going to the processors this Wednesday and are taking pre-orders. These are 100% grass-fed lambs and have been raised on our pastures using regenerative methods.

Pre-Orders
The advantage of pre-ordering is that you get the cuts that you want. Chops can be had as a rack-of-lamb or frenched to include the rib. You can also specify a leg or shoulder roast. We are also offering ½ and whole lambs available to be processed to your specifications (DM us if interested, we are still working on pricing).

No worries if you don’t pre-order, below are the typical market cuts that we plan on having available.
--Lamb chops (Shoulder, neck, or loin chops) - $24/lb.
--Leg Steak - $15/lb.
--Shank - $15/lb.
--Stew meat – $12/lb.
--Ground - $10/lb.

Dear friends and the wonderful people we’ve met over the years,

It is with regret that we announce that we have decided that we will no longer be offering pick-your-own strawberries. Last year’s strawberry season was a difficult one. Last year’s crop and poor weather at picking time resulted in another year of just barely breaking even. At the same time, the costs of plants have increased nearly 50% and we just could not envision a successful future for strawberries.

Please know that the decision was a difficult one, but as we age and continue to work day jobs the physical demands have started to take their toll. One must take pause when it takes 2 weeks to recover! But what makes this decision difficult is that it has been our pleasure to meet many wonderful and supportive people over the years. You have become friends that we look forward to seeing year after year. We have enjoyed watching your children and families grow and all of the “strawberry faces”.

What is next for the farm? Our mission of soil improvement, while providing healthy and delicious food has not changed. As many of you have witnessed, we have branched out into livestock. Currently we have 8 pregnant sheep and will be offering 100% pasture raised lamb meat. These sheep will also play a key part in regenerating the farm soil. One of my personal goals is to farm all of our tillable land (17 acres) by myself. Last summer, I spent 38 hours (yes, I counted them) on my tractor preparing the land and planting hay. This hay will be the winter food for our sheep and be sold on the market. We will also be experimenting with a small plot of heritage wheat, as a potential product for bread makers.

Over the years, we’ve been grateful for your support and hope that you will continue to follow us on our journey. Currently, we continue to offer Honey and Maple Syrup, just contact us via messenger and we will figure out how to connect. Also, we will be processing lamb in the next few weeks in preparation for Easter. Please contact us if you are interested in specific cuts, so we can have them made to order.

All the best,
Lynn & Scott
