📚🐄 Field Trip Day!

Sasha and I loaded up and headed to Tahlequah, Oklahoma for our Master Cattleman class stockyard visit… because apparently “adulting” now includes homework, cattle markets, and talking about beef genetics before coffee. 🤠☕

Nothing says a fun girls’ trip quite like:
✔️ smelling like cows all day
✔️ judging cattle like we know what we’re doing
✔️ taking 47 pictures of cows that all look “different” to us
✔️ trying not to embarrass ourselves by asking too many questions 😂

We came home with more knowledge, muddy boots, and at least 3 new cattle terms we’ll probably use incorrectly later.

We are officially SOLD OUT for our May butcher date! 🎉🐄

We are incredibly grateful for each and every person who chose to support our farm and fill their freezer with our beef. Your support means more to our family than you know!

The hardest part of being in the beef business is selling/butchering your steers after you’ve raised them for a few years. 😢. Some have such unique personalities or beautiful looks that when they are gone, they are really missed. We especially had a hard time saying goodbye to Jake this time. But we need to make room for our newest steers and we need to replenish our freezer. If you need to refill your freezer with grass fed, grass finished beef reach out to me. Cows are SO FUNNY!!! There are always birds in their pasture but for some reason they do not like these birds! We watched one cow charge the red headed vulture and thought what on earth is she doing? Then Mark caught this chase on video. Billy Joe and Top Knot lead the rush against this white bird. Anyone know what the white bird is?

Got a call from the local highway patrol (luckily a farming neighbor) who found 2 juvenile delinquents skipping school for the day! Fortunately the delinquents cooperated and went peacefully to the juvenile detention center (corral) where we contemplate their futures. This is the 3rd time they’ve played hooky! I’m calling them Houdini 1 and Houdini 2. Mark says they may need to be called Roast Beef and Hamburger real soon! Msg me if you’re interested in buying yearlings, steers, or already butchered beef.
