The men folk have checked the cows and prepped the farm. We’ve done what we can do. It’s in God’s hands, as it always is.

Lord protect the livestock, both big and small. Protect the farmers who will be out even during the worst of the storm. Protect our homes, our fences, our water lines. Amen.

Remember the farmers and the livestock in your prayers as we brace for brutal cold. Cows will still calve, hogs will farrow , and the farmers will be feeding, checking lines, busting water tanks. We’ll tend to the calf or piglet that isn’t handling the cold so well…all while trying to keep our families warm and safe too.

And if you drive by and see cows in a pasture with ice on their backs, just know that’s a good sign. That means they’re holding their body temperature. Mamas will corral the babies in to a circle and keep them warm.

All in all, know that the farmers are more worried about their livestock more than you ever could be. We walk the floor, walk the pastures, walk the huts- all while the rest of the world stays tucked inside.

• $250 (Quarter)
• $500 (Half)
• $1,000 (Whole)
