Every vintage of Riesling takes me, Natalie, back to 2004—my very first harvest. My dad handed me Riesling and a handful of different yeast strains and said, "Let's experiment." It was his way of introducing me to the science behind winemaking... and it worked.

That first vintage sparked my love for not only winemaking, but for letting the grapes tell their own story. I've always believed my job isn't to overpower what Mother Nature gives us each year—it's to let it shine.

This year's Riesling opens with bright citrus aromas and a touch of warm spice, followed by flavors of yellow apple and juicy peach, finishing with hints of clove and lingering green pear.

🥬🍅 Fresh from the garden… and into the winery!

One of our wonderful Wine Club members, Karla, has a HUGE garden and has been bringing fresh produce into the winery for everyone to enjoy. Take what looks good, leave a donation, and all money collected goes to the Master Gardeners of Spokane County. 💛

And I can personally confirm it’s pretty delicious! This weekend’s dinner was beet greens salad, roasted beets, and yellow squash — all from Karla’s garden — alongside seared scallops. Of course, there may have been a glass of wine involved too. 😉

Harvest is starting!! 🍇 And earlier than ever!

This photo is actually from a few years ago, but seeing that fresh juice in the glass feels pretty appropriate right about now because the 2026 harvest is officially getting underway.

Our Pinot Gris is being harvested now, followed by Orange Muscat tomorrow, August 27, with the juice arriving at the winery on Friday. This is the second earliest we’ve ever started harvest — not by a lot, but it still counts!

I’m pretty excited to see what this early start has in store for the 2026 vintage. Here we go, harvest season! 🍇🍷

Summer BBQ season is still going strong, and this recipe is one of our family's favorites - Tequila Glazed Chicken. Natalie first made it for Mike and me on Father's Day, and after one bite I knew it had to be shared with our Latah Creek family! It's full of flavor, incredibly tender, and surprisingly easy to make.

Pair it with a well-chilled glass of our Wine of the Month, Sangria, and you've got the perfect recipe for a summer evening on the patio.

Simple food. Great wine. Time together. That's what summer is all about. 🍷💛

Dad, It's hard to imagine that after 22 years of working side by side that I am still learning from you! Just the other day you told me a story I've never heard before! How can that be?!!? I feel so lucky that you've chosen to be around and keep working with me, even when most people would have retired. I love having your company while we work. There are days that I laugh so hard I have tears! Thank you for having fun and loving life! I especially love watching you joke and laugh with Analisa and Paige. It hilarious when you are laughing so hard at a video you sent them on instagram and then make them watch it with you right there. I love it! Thank you for everything you've taught me, everything you still teach me, and for all of the years we've been able to be side by side. I wouldn't trade them for anything!

A little cellar update... and a warning for anyone who has a favorite on this list. 😉🍷 We're down to our final few cases of four wines, and there isn't another vintage coming behind them. Once these bottles are gone, they're truly gone!

Here's what we have left:

🍇 Reserve Petite Sirah — 4 cases
🍇 Pinot Noir — 6 cases
🍇 Ellena's Sangiovese — 8 cases
🍇 Sweet Riesling — 7 cases

If you've been saving one of these for a special occasion, maybe the special occasion is simply we still have some. 😉

The 2025 Orange Moscato is officially here! ✨🍊

Every year I look forward to bottling this wine. It has such a fun story, and it almost didn't exist.

After a devastating freeze years ago, the kindness of fellow grape growers introduced us to the Orange Muscat grape. One taste and I knew it deserved a permanent place at Latah Creek.

This wine is everything I love about summer—delicate aromas of orange blossom and jasmine, flavors of honeysuckle and orange cream, and just a touch of natural effervescence that keeps every sip bright and refreshing. Sweet, but never too sweet. 🍷

Whether you're enjoying it on the patio, pairing it with a fruit and cheese board, or simply looking for a glass that tastes like sunshine, I think you're going to love this vintage.

One of our favorite limited releases has arrived! Our Chenin Blanc has a special place in Latah Creek's history—it was one of the original wines Mike crafted in 1982 and even earned a Best of Show award at the winery's very first competition. Today, Natalie continues that tradition by bottling a small, limited-production release each year.

This vintage is bursting with tropical fruit, featuring aromas of persimmon and citrus zest with flavors of passion fruit, yellow pear, and a hint of chamomile, all leading to a bright, zesty finish.

Perfect with seafood, spicy dishes, salads, or a creamy pasta on the patio this summer.
