Our next BOOK CLUB meeting is Thursday, October 29th at 6pm!

Our book club meets every month, and no sign-up is required: just read the book, show up, and discuss with your fellow readers. You can also join our Facebook group for ongoing discussions about the material: Iron Goat Book Club

Ahead of October's meeting we will be reading *The Story of Edgar Sawtelle* by David Wroblewoki. This a bestselling 2008 debut novel reimagines Shakespeareโ€™s Hamlet as a sweeping family saga set on a remote dog-breeding farm in 1970s northern Wisconsin. The book intimately explores the boundaries of human-animal communication, grief, betrayal, family legacy, and isolation.

Visit Auntie's Bookstore to grab a copy and get a discount when you mention youโ€™re a member of Iron Goatโ€™s book club.

AND if you're a slow reader or want a head start on November's book selection, the book chosen for that month is *Tom Lake* by Anne Patchett. Our meeting for November will be held Thursday, the 19th.

Two Fresh Hop Beers Now On Tap!

Thanks to the generosity of a couple of local hop growers we're now pouring these for a very limited time:

Greener Pastures - Double Hazy IPA
- Made with huge load Comet hops harvested locally, this smooth and juicy fruit bomb explodes with big stone fruit and citrus flavors.

Dark Brotherhood - Cascadian Dark Ale
- This hoppy dark ale was brewed 100% Chinook hops harvested by another local grower. Thereโ€™s just enough chocolatey roast character to beautifully balance the citrusy and slightly piney flavor of the hops.

These were super small batches, so try them before they're gone!

Here comes First Friday!

This month we're privileged to feature the art of Betsy Wilhelms for the first time. Betsy is a mixed-media artist, maker, gardener, collector of beautiful oddities, and lifelong believer that more color is usually the answer. Her work wanders happily between stained glass, mosaic, ceramics, painting, and whatever medium happens to call to her next. Inspired by women, wild gardens, old stories, sacred imagery, cultural traditions, grief, humor, and the beautifully imperfect business of being human, Betsy creates pieces that are bold, layered, colorful, and a little unruly. Betsy herself will be here Friday evening to exhibit her work.

From 6-8pm local singer-songwriter Kori Ailene (Kori Ailene Music) will be here performing a range of songs from old folk classics to modern pop and Americana, as well as original work. Samples of Kori's music can be found on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and on her website: koriailenecom.wordpress.com
