Wow were do I start. Today is the last day of an amazing place we created!!!! But today I want to give thanks to the man behind the vision and dream My husband Chuck Watkins when he came to me over 10 years ago and said I want to open a brewery to doing three years of research as a business man would always do to my mom finding the property to myself owning Bigalow gulp espresso and meeting Jordan Conley who was a beer enthusiast to being our brewer along with kevin, Adam and Travis and our amazing designer who have been with us from the start . I enjoyed designing and decorating and collecting all the vintage items to my dad’s amazing beer sign collection. So anyways back to Chuck he is the most giving person I know besides my parents always thinking of others before himself in the 6 years of business he never took a paycheck so I give thanks to Chuck for creating a local social for everyone to enjoy . Thank you for all the great memories and all the great relationships that were made in our beautiful place we call Millwood Brewery, it will always be Millwood Brewery. Thank you to all our customers for an amazing 6 years. Here’s to Chuck getting to enjoy his life again . Btw he’s making an amazing brunch today we have lots of food we open today from 11-5

Millwood Brewing Company Announces Retirement
Acquisition
Millwood, WA— December 21, 2023 — Today in the Tap Room, Millwood Brewing Company announced it is retiring from the Craft Beer industry and selling its assets, land and buildings to Whistle Punk Brewing of Spokane, WA., effective January 1, 2024
“We set out 10 years ago to build a brewery in the community of Millwood creating an atmosphere that felt like it had been here since the early 1900’s.” said Millwood Brewing Company Co-Owner and Manager Chuck Watkins.
Positive Impact
During the last 7 years we lived up to our mission of “leaving our community better than you found it.” We invested over $1 million remodeling an aging building, cleaned up two known drug houses, helped an addict get sober, donated countless money and volunteer hours to help our community and friends in need.
“As a West Valley High School graduate, I’m proud of what we have done for the Millwood community. My dad retired from the beer industry and attended the original West Valley High School. He is always beaming with a smile from above for what we did to leave an iconic building for many years of enjoyment,” said Co-Owner, Shelley Eslick-Watkins “.
What’s Next
Father Son team Craig and Matt Hanson are no strangers to the Craft Beer industry and the communities of Spokane, WA. Owners of Whistle Punk Brewing, they have honed their craft over several years dating back to Craigs college days at the University of Montana.
“We’ve been searching for a building in Spokane Valley for the last couple of years,“ stated Matt Hanson. “We’ve always admired what Chuck & Shelley had done in Millwood. My dad traveled this area for many years trying to find a location, so you can imagine when we found out they were retiring from the industry, we jumped on the opportunity.”

Millwood Brewing Company is a micro craft brewery and Tap Room located in the heart of Millwood, WA. They produce West coast style ales, hard seltzers and sodas. Known throughout the mountain biking, snow skiing communities as avid supporters for both industries. They leave behind an array of award winning craft beers, Purple Yeti Huckleberry Blonde, Chairway to Heaven Hazy IPA, Millbilly IPA, Moose Knuckle Peanut Butter Porter and JSlick Blonde.

Founded in 2015, Whistle Punk Brewing is located in downtown Spokane's historic Railroad Alley and operated by father-son team Craig and Matt Hanson. They are passionate about creating new beers and improving with each brew day.
