The fresh hop madness continuesโฆ A couple weeks ago, we had the honor of taking part in Single Hillโs Fresh Hop Rodeo 2026. Every year, Single Hill Brewing Co. hosts a friendly competition with nine breweries and nine different fresh hop collaborations.
The Rodeo takes place over three rounds, each with three breweries. Together, each crew develops a wet hopped base b**r, then heads out on brew day to rustle up the freshest hops from farms around the Yakima Valley. The batch is split into three tanks, and each brewery takes over their own tank, choosing the yeast and dry hop using only hops from the 2026 harvest.
For Round One, we teamed up with Zilker Brewing Co. from Austin and Sunriver Brewing Co. from Bend.
NICE BOLO is our version, starting with the shared wet hop base of fresh Centennial from C&C Hop Farms, Simcoe from Loftus Ranches and HBC 1176 from Perrault Farms. We finished ours with Strata from Roy Farms, Krush from Haas and Simcoe from Black Star Ranch.
We brought just a little bit of the Rodeo back to Spokane with all three versions from Round One. There isnโt much to go around, so come try NICE BOLO alongside Zilkerโs FIRST KILN and Sunriverโs BARN BOOGIE while you can.
