Looking for something to do this Saturday in the McKenzie Lakes or Scott Township area? There are two great opportunities to get involved and enjoy the day.
Start your morning by joining the annual McKenzie Lakes Association roadside clean-up, held in partnership with the Rooney and Lipsie Lakes Associations. Simply pick a local road, collect roadside trash, and bring it to McKenzie Landing between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., where it will be disposed of free of charge (courtesy of the Town of Scott). Afterward, stick around for a casual gathering hosted by the McKenzie Lakes Association with light food and appetizers.
Then in the afternoon, head over to Voyager Village for the Town of Scott Fire Department’s final meat raffle of the season. The event runs from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and is always a fun way to support your local fire department. With this being the last meat raffle of the season, we are adding more meat offerings and bacon to each round!
I’ll be helping collect roadside trash at McKenzie Landing in the morning and will also be emceeing the meat raffle in the afternoon. If you’re able, come out for one or both events—it’s a great way to support the community and spend the day with neighbors.
