Day 10! If you are raising young horses, breeding, or buying prospects, you need to know about Type X Collagen. 🐎

What it accomplishes: Type X is highly specialized and is primarily found in one place: the hypertrophic zone of growth cartilage. It is the critical protein that manages endochondral ossification—the process where soft cartilage turns into hard, healthy bone as a young horse grows.
How it thrives: It thrives on balanced, steady growth. Over-feeding young horses or causing massive growth spikes can disrupt the delicate balance of Type X collagen in the growth plates, leading to developmental orthopedic diseases (DODs).
What the body requires: Glycine, Proline, Hydroxyproline, Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper, and Manganese. The Source: Found in multi-collagen protein supplements, often sourced from chicken bone broth and eggshell membranes.
