From honey bees to highland cattle, we spent the evening helping kids connect with agriculture, and we had just as much fun as they did! What started as a simple lesson about honey bees turned into an incredible evening on the farm! 😀
We welcomed a wonderful group of school aged kids and their families to learn about honey bees, pollination, and the important role that honey bees play in our food system (among other native pollinators). Along the way, we also talked about our highland cattle, pastured pork, and what daily life looks like on a working family farm.
The kids asked great questions, watched the honey bees in action, saw the cows, and got a firsthand look at where their food comes from at the most basic level. Seeing their curiosity and excitement made the whole experience worthwhile!
As farmers, we spend a lot of time caring for our livestock and forage. It’s easy to forget that many children rarely get the chance to see these things up close and personal! Being able to share our farm and help connect kids to agriculture was a true blessing! 🙏
Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the evening with us. We had a fantastic time and are already talking about doing it again!
