Just a heads up, someone reported my page for misleading information. I do not have specifics and have appealed, but there is a chance my page will be removed for whatever violation they claim I committed. If that happens I will attempt to start a new page.

Ever wonder the difference between all the types of eggs? Store bought eggs with no other label are from chickens who live their entire lives in cages. I would say the chickens have a pretty awful life. Cage free eggs might sound better, but these chickens are often in a building and can't move because there are so many of them. Free range means they must have inside and outside space and be able to move around. Pasture raised means then have grass etc and range more freely.

My chickens are free range and have a fence for their safety and to protect my garden. They are given lots of yummy treats and find bugs and other yummy things. Gardening season gives them even more yummy treats (weeds!). Also, don't be fooled by pasture raised or free range (even cage free) that say they are vegetarian. This just means their conventional food doesn't contain meat. Chickens are omnivores and will eat meat. Trust me. Mice are a delicacy to them.

Do you have other questions? Feel free to ask!

As the days gradually get longer, the hens start to lay more eggs. Cold weather often slows them down, but it's the hours of sunlight that have the most effect. We have a few dozen eggs available, and for a short time, eggs will be $3/dozen because our young hens are new layers and their eggs can be small. Your dozen will include unwashed, free range eggs in various sizes. Message me if you would like to get some before the storm. I do porch pickup and prefer Venmo. I am about 5 miles south of Gardner and 5 miles west of Spring Hill.

We have eggs, but molting season has started, so they won’t last long. Molting happens every year to chickens at least a year old. They lose their feathers and grow new ones. While going through this, all their resources go into making new feathers instead of making eggs. If you’d like some farm fresh eggs, unwashed, unrefrigerated, send me a message. Eggs are $5/dozen, porch pickup, Venmo preferred. I’m about 5 miles south of Gardner and Gardner Rd. As sad as this chicken looks, she will be gorgeous when her new feathers come in. 🥚🐥
