Temperature finally beginning to feel like fall. September was just August all over again this year.

Hmm. The blackberries may be later than they were last year. It's June 5th, and the berries are all green with just a tinge of red on some of them.

Blackberries are ripe and being picked. Rizzo the last of the full blooded black Silkies passed away. She lived long enough to give us a few of her little eggs. So Sandy the buff half-Silkie rooster has lost his hen. I'm going to try to acclimate him to my two bigger bantams, but traditionally they have never gotten along well.

The chickens have gone back to laying eggs. I suppose they completed their yearly molt.

No busted pipes for us, and the chickens are still with us. Having trouble keeping their drinking water thawed and keeping them from getting their days and nights mixed up because they have a light on at night to keep them from freezing to death.
