The school year might be wrapping up, but our students are nowhere near done doing good for others. Thanks to an inspiring concept from Mrs. Kuhlman’s Kindness Club and funding from the Spring Lake Schools Foundation, 130 middle schoolers recently stepped up to a unique challenge. Each student was tasked with spreading unexpected kindness in two ways: one act that cost absolutely nothing, and another using a $10 grant to fund a good deed.
Our Lakers absolutely hit the challenge out of the park. From doing dishes for mom and writing uplifting notes on random lockers, to buying end-of-year candies for teachers and delivering goods to The People Center, these students proved that making the world a brighter place doesn't have to cost a fortune.
The impact of the challenge went far beyond the good deeds themselves, sparking a lot of personal reflection among the students. Brecklyn shared, "Helping people unexpectedly made me feel like that's who I want to be," while Maddox added, "It makes me happier knowing that I can give back to people who have helped me."
Way to lead with your hearts and show true Laker spirit, middle schoolers!
