Animal loyalty to humans...
Toldo was a gray-and-white cat from Montagnana, a small village in Italy. He had been adopted as a stray kitten by a man named Renzo Iozzelli. The two shared a close bond for years until Renzo passed away in 2011. At the funeral, Toldo followed the coffin to the cemetery — and that was just the beginning of his devotion.
From that day on, Toldo began visiting his owner’s grave every single day. He would bring small tokens — twigs, leaves, flowers, paper towels, or bits of plastic — as if offering gifts to his beloved friend. Neighbors and Renzo’s family often saw the cat sitting quietly by the grave or leaving his little treasures there, no matter the weather.
Even in the cold of winter, Toldo continued his visits. Renzo’s widow, Ada, said the cat’s loyalty comforted her deeply, showing that the bond between her husband and Toldo had never been broken. Over a year later, Toldo was still making his daily pilgrimage — a moving reminder of how deeply animals can feel love and grief.
