En Primeur 2025 began their releases today with Pontet Canet. We had the privilege of having a barrel tasting, lunch, and amazing cheese experience just last week. The wines shown were balanced and structured, low alcohol levels for the warm vintage, and overall elegant. Pioneers in biodynamic wines, it’s impressive to see what they are able to accomplish with the weather changes from year to year! A great kickoff for this remarkable vintage. Price is inline with the 2019 vintage and a must add to any collectors cellar.

It was truly an honor and privilege to know Daniel Cathiard of over the years. He was always so warm and welcoming. He was passionate and so proud of his legacy. We are truly saddened to learn of his passing. A legend in the wine world, he will be missed. Prayers to Florence and the entire Smith Haut Lafitte family. En Primeur just won’t be the same without his sweet and bubbly greetings.

The tragedy that happened in our Texas Hillcountry this past weekend has left me feeling hopeless. I know families whose daughters were at this camp during the flood and parents who had daughters at this camp in previous weeks and cannot fathom the emotions of it all. What those sweet girls endured that night, the ones who survived or who have gone on to be with the Lord. I want to help and contribute. I’ve been searching for a wine that I want to feature and donate the profits from. Austin Hope is one of our top sellers and think that the name speaks volumes. While it didn’t occur in Austin, Texas, it’s part of the hillcountry and hope is what each of us clings too. May all the victims lights shine forever bright! $100 of every case ordered of Austin Hope will be donated. I will work closely with some of the affected to determine where is best for the funds to go to. Local to Houston will receive free delivery. We just got back from Bordeaux and tasting the 2024 En Primeur vintage. I didn’t make the wines as it may appear in the pic, but I did get my tastings on having tasted over 100 wines on both the right bank and left bank. Come follow along as we explain the vintage and share the tidbits as each wine is released during the campaign. First release will happen on April 23rd with a well known chateau who should not be missed out on!
