It's time to put the garden to rest. Chad has been busy with clean out and tonight we THINK we picked just about the last of our goodies. Lettuce, bunching onions, spinach, kale, peppers, a few herbs, beets and turnips are still growing and will remain until the frost takes over.
It has been a great harvest this year. Since we started picking in July, we have donated close to 8,000 # of fresh produce. That's pretty incredible being that it was so dry this summer and watering the plants was challenging to say the least.
We are beginning to plan for next year and hoping we can produce even more than this year.
We can't do any of this without the help of family, friends, neighbors and volunteers. We appreciate you all beyond words.
