This is it! Preorders close April 1st, and we won’t offer pork again until next year.

We’ve had a lot of questions about pricing, so here’s a clear breakdown 👇

💰 Average Total (Whole Hog): $1,468
⚖️ Average Price: $5.24 per lb (based on ~280 lb hanging weight - this is what you pay for meat going into your freezer)

➡️ What does that actually mean?

Your total cost is split between the farm and the butcher:

Paid to Back 40 Homestead (your farmer):
• $3.60/lb hanging weight
• ≈ $1,008 (based on 280 lbs)

Paid to the butcher (separately at time of pickup):
• Kill fee
• Per lb processing fee
• ≈ $460 total

✔️ No additional smoking or curing fees!
✔️ All-in total: $1,468
✔️ That’s where the $5.24/lb average comes from

We’re excited to offer our fall pork pre-sale with limited spots available!

💲 $3.60/lb hanging weight
💰 $200 deposit per whole ($100 for a half)
📅 Pre-sale open until April 1st, 2026

🔪 Butcher date is set for mid-October with Reedy’s Custom Meats.
• Butcher processing fees are paid separately and directly to Reedy’s Custom Meats.

Looking for another option?
🐷 Finished pigs are also available for self-processing or to take to the butcher of your choice.

Our pigs are farm-raised with care right here at Back 40 Homestead, and we’re proud to offer high-quality pork for your family’s freezer.

Today, we pause to honor and thank all the brave men and women who have served our country. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication protect the freedoms we hold dear.

A very special thank you to my husband, our own veteran here on the farm. Your strength, selflessness, and commitment — both in service to our country and in everything you do here at home — inspire me every day. I’m so proud of you and forever grateful for your service and heart.

The liquid gold we’ve been excitedly working towards… our first jar of The Back 40 Homestead raw honey!

It’s sweet. It’s delicious. It’s well worth the wait to receive this special treat from our hardworking girls.

We hope to continue providing for our girls so they may provide us with more delicious honey to share in the future years. For now, we’re going to cherish this jar like it’s worth a million bucks!

We have 1/4 beef available heading to Reedy’s butcher July 16th.

It will be $3.50/lb hanging to the farm plus processing to Reedy’s butcher. $100 deposit due to the farm immediately, with final payment due July 18th. Processing due to Reedy’s at pick up.
