They say a cookbook is about the food, but when you’re writing one that’s also a memoir and a self-help guide, it’s really about the layers. 🥘✨
It turns out that writing your truth is a lot harder than perfecting a sourdough starter. You start out thinking you’re just sharing a recipe, and suddenly you’re staring at a story about identity, acceptance, and the moments that actually built your confidence.
The hardest part? Deciding which stories to tell and which to keep close. You worry about leaving someone out or accidentally stepping on a memory that someone else sees differently. But I’ve realized that if I’m not a little nervous about being this honest, I’m probably not telling the stories that actually matter.
A cookbook feeds the body, but a memoir feeds the history. Trying to do both (while helping others find their own path) is the most challenging "service" project I’ve ever tackled. 📖✍️
