Our Home Grown Springfield team, made up of Springfield Public Schools and Sodexo employees, work together to ensure students in Springfield are receiving healthy nutritious meals. Our Mission:
“To eliminate student hunger by increasing the quality, sustainability, and efficiency of the child nutritional programs in our schools and community.”

Our Goals:
1) To improve the food quality

🎪Lucky Lunch Tray at Brunton Elementary!

The Lucky Lunch Tray fun has come to an end, and we have 4 lucky winners! 🎉

Students at Brunton Elementary joined in by choosing a school meal and keeping an eye out for a special sticker hiding on the bottom of their tray. Four lucky students found the winning stickers and took home a Young Chef’s Cookbook! 👩‍🍳📚🏆

Congratulations to our lucky winners, and thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun! ❤️

Today was full of fun, flavor, and student voices! 🍽️💚

Our first Student Choice Event was a hit. Students tasted, voted, and shared their opinions to help us learn more about what they want in their school meals.

We’re starting with one fun question: What should we call our seasoning?

Thank you to the school, our staff, and especially the students for participating and sharing their feedback.

Over the next 3 weeks, we’ll be visiting more schools to keep the voting going and find the winning name. More Student Choice activities are coming soon!

What’s cooking today?

Today’s menu included a Chipotle Chicken Rice Bowl with seasoned rice, CNC stewed black beans, roasted corn and chipotle-glazed chicken, with salsa and sour cream for students to make it their own.

And yes… there was pizza too. 🍕 Freshly cooked and ready for lunch!

Behind the scenes, our team is also making small changes to the cafeteria setup to help create a smoother lunch experience for students.

Lunch at Sci-Tech High School is looking delicious during the first week back to school!👀 Our students were served up scratch-made Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Pizza, made with locally sourced cheese and fresh crust from One Mighty Mill, alongside a classic Pepperoni Pizza. All plated up and ready to go with golden crispy fries. 🍟

From scratch-made sauces and toppings to locally sourced ingredients, we’re bringing quality ingredients and made-with-care meals straight to the students we serve. 💚

Two delicious ways to power through your day! 🍽️

This menu is bring all the comfort food favorites!

Chicken Fillet Sandwich - a crispy, goladen chicken fillet with our scratch made Mac Sauce, served with golden French Fries and a red crisp apple.

Scratch made Mac & Cheese - creamy, cheesy, and made from scratch from the CNC, paired with roasted broccoli and a refreshing orange.

Both meals completed with either chocolate or white cold refreshing milk!
