Another memorable name from the Napa Valley trip: Chateau Montelena.

This w**ery helped put California w**e on the world stage when its Chardonnay took top honors among the white w**es at the famous 1976 Judgment of Paris.

Nearly 50 years later, Chateau Montelena remains a Napa Valley icon. Featured here are two sides of the w**ery, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2023 Chardonnay.

Kongsgaard holds a spot among Bob’s favorite Chardonnays, so getting to meet the man behind the bottle and see where the w**e is made, made this stop especially memorable.

Known for his distinctive approach to Napa Valley Chardonnay, John Kongsgaard has built a reputation for producing some of California’s most sought-after w**es in very limited quantities.

It’s one thing to enjoy the w**e. It’s another to know the story and people behind it.

Next up in the recent Napa Valley trip, a couple of notable bottles with an interesting connection.

Two regions, two very different w**es, all connected by one vision.

Dr. Madaiah Revana’s journey into w**e began in Napa Valley, where he founded Revana Estate and developed a passion for producing w**es that reflect where they’re grown. That passion eventually took him north to Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where he founded Alexana Winery, named after his daughter.

Check out Bob’s recent trip to Napa Valley, visiting w**eries, meeting the people behind the bottles and tasting plenty of amazing w**e along the way.

One of his favorite stops was Morlet Family Vineyards. Getting to experience the w**ery firsthand and learn more about the people and process behind the w**e made these bottles even more special to bring back to The Reserve.

The 2021 Maya from Dalla Valle Vineyards is a Napa Valley red with a reputation that precedes it. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Maya is produced in limited quantities and has become one of the estate’s most sought-after w**es.
