Oh, the stories it could tell....

The old scale might be a bit antiquated, but it still gets the job done.
Wonder how many hooves have stepped across it in 91 years?

The start of June marks 4 years in business for CCVS! Moving to southwest Missouri and starting a new practice in the middle of a pandemic had its challenges, but the support that we have received over the years has been overwhelming. Our clientele and patient load has continued to grow exponentially and we just want to give a big thank you to everyone for their continued support and business!

The last year has brought some changes since we have started a family. As most of you know, our little Cora recently turned one and continues to tag along on appointments. With our baby boy due in a few months, Dr. Hannah will likely be starting maternity leave sometime in August.

In order to prevent adding on to the already high workload and long hours, Dr. Hannah will not be taking on any new equine clients for appointments or emergency services.

We appreciate you all so much!
Cameron and Hannah

Throwback Thursday!

Back in the day, Dad and Granddad taught us to diversify our farm business. Then, it was Angus cattle, Berkshire hogs and Hampshire sheep. Today, our focus on cutting-edge genetics helps us diversify by producing Angus beef for consumers.

Whether you're in the market for replacement females, herd sires or great-tasting, local beef, we're committed to quality.

Way Back Wednesday!

Halfway through National Agriculture Week, and we're giving a shout out to our roots! We're so blessed with the opportunity to carry on the legacy our dad, granddad and great-grandad started 91 years ago. Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.

Born in Ireland on St. Patrick's Day in 1945, Big Bertha was a Droimeann cow who holds the record for oldest cow to ever live. She lived to be 48, dying just 3 months short of her 49th birthday. Big Bertha also holds the record for lifetime breeding, having produced a whopping 39 calves! ☘️

Due to her record-breaking status, Big Bertha appeared in many parades and cattle shows throughout Ireland, and was able to help raise over $75,000 for cancer research. It's rumored that before appearing at big events, her owner would feed her whiskey to calm her nerves.

After Big Bertha's death on New Years Eve in 1993, a wake was held for the bovine celebrity at a local pub. She would later be stuffed and displayed on a farm in southwest Ireland for the community to remember and admire her for years to come. 🍻

Since 1933.

Our story is one of tradition.

In 1933, W.H. Pipkin bought the first Angus cattle that would ever step foot on Clearwater Farm from Johnson Workman in Kansas. After years of raising Berkshire hogs and Hampshire sheep, it was time for something different.

From the beginning, W.H. and his son Morris remained committed to improvement. They only kept the best cows and only bred them to the best bulls. That dedication to excellence was passed down for generations, five to be exact.

Today, the operation is managed by Morris’ son W.D., grandson Jim, and their families. Currently, around 600 cows reside on the property and are bred via A.I. each year. Bulls are sold at private treaty or consignment sales around the area. Females are marketed private treaty or annually at the Missouri Angus Breeder’s Futurity.
