Wet Rock Gardens Flower Farm

Wet Rock Gardens Flower Farm U-Pick is always open by appointment AND open sunrise to sunset April-Oct, but, no staff makes calling ahead a good idea IF you need any customer service.

U-Pick cut-flowers and more at this farm on the McKenzie River just north of downtown Springfield. Look in the "albums" here to see what blooms at what time of year. The U-Pick is open everyday from sunrise to sunset from April to Halloween and by appointment the rest of the year. Even when we are open, minimal staffing makes calling ahead a good idea unless you are comfortable without customer se

rvice... You pretty much just put water in your containers and go cut whatever you want. If you take our buckets, they are $3ea plus the cost of flowers ($25/bucketful). Buckets, Cutters, Prices and the box for paying should be at the "Farm Check-In" table. We think it is easy to U-pick without us. Even if you want help your first visit, once you get to know the place, you will probably only rarely need customer service. Best # for customer service is Five41 5toOne ate89ate (like it sounds). 7am to 3pm is the LEAST reliable time for this # to be answered. So, super early or 3pm to 10pm is the best times to call. The # is also posted on the Farm Check-in table. We don't currently have a restroom, though if you find anyone volunteering there (usually later in the afternoons and evenings), they can show you a bathroom. In an "emergency", peeing on LAWNS is good for the grass.

Growing for Market was an old favorite newsletter and has become more over the years. This article for flower farmers is full of useful info on how to take care of flowers you cut. You need not do all this stuff with flowers from our U-Pick, but if you want to know more here is some good info :-)

Some flowers are more difficult to deal with than others. They may be hard to hydrate, particular about the time of day for harvest, or have an ideal harvest stage.  We have eliminated some flowers that are overly difficult, such as basil and euphorbia, but there are some that we just can’t live ...

Pretty good advice we like to follow in this video and an advert for therapy services. Some would say gardening and visiting our farm is therapy. I guess therapy is also therapy, lol.

The 3 B's Method actually works for natural invasive w**d suppression. Let's talk about it!...Going to therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. My sponso...

We are on a list for a delivery like the one pictured :-) Also, everyone can get: 1 cubic yard of free, unbagged compost, while supplies last at events such as the one in Eugene:
Free compost events for residents

April 11 , 2026 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Rexius (150 Hwy 99, Eugene, 97402)

Come prepared with shovels, buckets, tarps, and anything else you need to transport compost! Conversely, for those with open-bed trucks, a Rexius front loader can help you load compost into your vehicle. Each Lane County household may receive up to 1 cubic yard of free, unbagged compost, while supplies last.

And if you are a friend of the farm (Wet Rock Gardens), you may be able to borrow our trailer to get a "load" that day :-)

South Hills Montessori recently received 30 cubic yards of Love Food Not Waste compost for free as part of Lane County's Free Community Compost program.

Businesses (i.e., commercial farms), organizations (i.e., nonprofits, churches), and agencies (i.e., schools) seeking free community compost delivery are eligible to participate in the program. The program is NOT open to individual residents.

More information at lanecountyor.gov/compost.

* Please note quantities are limited, and individuals (i.e., residents) cannot order delivery.
* MINIMUM 30 CUBIC YARDS (1 DUMP TRUCK) REQUIRED FOR DELIVERY

Individual residents seeking free community compost should refer to the Waste Wise Lane County Facebook events page for any scheduled events.

This work is supported by the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production’s Composting and Food Waste Reduction Cooperative Agreements, project award No. 2024-70510-41981, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

This is more than a tabling event. We’re building an engaging, action-focused Earth Day experience designed to spark meaningful behavior change in our community.

Learn more at wastewiselane.org/earth and sign-up to get involved. Applications are due March 8. Space is limited. Participants will be selected and notified by March 15.

This dynamic indoor/outdoor event is hosted by the MECCA: Materials Exchange Center for the Community Arts, BRING, City of Eugene Waste Prevention, and Waste Wise Lane County–a part of Lane County Waste Management.
