I came home to a surprise yesterday after work and I want to say thank you to the person who left me the surprise. Thank you for the generous gift but thank you more for allowing the Lord to work through you and bring Him glory! It was just what was needed in words and provision.
It's time to get your taters ready. Remember seed potatoes are different than regular store bought and produce better. Quarter them with a couple of eyes and let them sit for at least 3 to 4 days to make a tough skin. Plant and If they germinate and we get a cold snap cover them up with a bucket or a box and uncover when the sun comes back out. Some people cover with straw or mulch. Build soil around them as they grow leaving the tops uncovered. They are ready when the tops flower and die back. Unless you want baby potatoes then dig them up early.

Caught like a cat sleeping in a plant but Thankful for the rain. These last few months have been hard. The market last year didn't do well as hoped and we are struggling to stay afloat. Praying for provision, I took a full time job. It's been different and I feel like I'm falling behind in planting. I could make a list a mile long of set backs and obstacles but I won't because I know we all have them and there's no sense in giving them anymore energy. Whatever it is, this is a new day and we got through the last one. Not by my power but His. To God be the glory! I am not sure what this year will look like for the farm but I know I will keep trying until God tells me to quit. Pray for your farmers and those around you. Did you know perseverance is a gift of the Spirit? See you have gifts you didn't even know you had!

2025 has begun! I think I've planted close to 900 seeds in the last few days and I've got about 300 plants propagated or growing between the grow room and the greenhouse. If I had better access to water and heat in the greenhouse I'd be doing this in there but sometimes you gotta weigh the cost of things and it's just better this way for now.

Welcome to Faith Works Farm on facebook. In 2016 I moved to my new home with a drive to learn how to be self sustaining and help others. I started my first garden in my backyard in west Springfield, MO and fell in love with being able to grow my own food. Each year is a little different and we are always finding new ways to do things. Through Faith, hard work, and love I hope we can grow to provide organic healthy foods for our community and help out local charities with part of our profits.
