Our total baby count up to this point is 15!

9 males & 6 females

We do have one mama that has yet to go…but I’m not exactly sure what she’s waiting on🤪

3 of the males are spoken for but if you’re in the market for a new furry friend, let’s talk! I have kept the females in the past but I have to accept the fact that I can’t keep them all and I have a lot of other mouths so feed so if you’re wanting a female, you just might be able to convince me!🐐

Bear with me…I’m no public speaker😂 but you guys have to see the size difference in these babies in this video I took last night!🐐🩷

Kidding season officially kicked off today!🐐

Sweet Opal girl had 5 babies (yes, you read that right…5!) Unfortunately one was stuck and didn’t make it but we are feeling extra thankful for the 4 we do have and that Opal is doing great.

We actually had another mama give birth early this morning too…her name is Latte and she’s one of our first time fresheners. Unfortunately her story is a bit more sad as she lost both of her babies. My mama heart just breaks listening to her call out for them😢

While our first day of kidding season wasn’t as glorious as I’d hoped, farm life and raising animals is not for the faint of heart and you never know what each day will bring.

On a brighter note…does anyone want to guess the male to female ratio for Opal’s 4 babies before I spill the beans??🙂

Whew! Sorry for the hiatus — it’s already been a busy spring around here…but no goat babies just yet!

Today was a perfect day to clean the goat pen! While this may look excessive to some, there is a method behind the madness. This is called the deep litter method…it’s when you let your goats’ bedding build up over time, adding fresh straw or shavings on top instead of cleaning it out constantly. As it breaks down, it creates a warm, composting base that helps keep your goats dry and cozy in the winter — while also cutting down on daily chores. Everyone wins! However, as soon as it starts to warm up, I get so antsy to get all of that old stuff out! We will now let that bottom layer of lime dry out and harden before adding a new layer over top to build it back up to where it was. Soon enough it will look brand new again!

Anyways, I hope you all of you in the Midwest got outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather today!

Happy Saturday☀️🐐

How many babies do we think Jolene has?🤔

•In 2024 she had 3 babies (one was stillborn)
•In 2025 she had 3 live babies

She’s looking fairly large already but still has a full month to go!👀🐐

Some stinky boy was really happy over the weekend…he either really liked the weather we had or the fact that he got moved back to the pen next to the does. I’ll let you be the judge😉

Since this guy lives alone this time of year and didn’t have anyone to snuggle with, he got a little extra special treatment and got to come into the kidding pen inside the barn where he will probably stay until the end of the week🤎🐐
