Yesterday, we hosted a table at the Fork Cancer Metro East event, with the American Cancer Society.

Guests mingled, sampled, and created their own unique spice blends. It was fun to see people’s excitement as they discovered an unexpected combination they had never considered before.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, built a blend, and supported the fight against cancer.

If your cinnamon, your paprika, and your cumin have been in the cabinet for a year, they are mostly color and crunch at this point, and your cooking is quietly paying for it.

We grind in small batches and pack in small jars so the flavor is still there when you open it. Start with the three you reach for most, the ones making every dish a little flatter than it should be. Replace those first and you will taste the difference at dinner tonight.

Eggs were just the beginning. The jar of Bacon Salt on your counter is capable of so much more than breakfast, and it is a little embarrassing how fast it disappears.

Corn, burgers, popcorn, roasted potatoes, even the rim of a Bloody Mary on a slow Sunday. It is small batch blended on South Main, so a light hand goes a long way. Put it somewhere new this week and do not be surprised when it becomes the thing nobody at the table can stop reaching for.

The bagged tea you have been drinking all summer tastes like warm paper and sheds plastic into your glass. One small switch fixes both.

Loose-leaf steeps brighter, chills cleaner, and costs less per cup than you would think. Cold brew a pitcher overnight, pour it over ice, and your afternoon tea finally tastes like the season it is in. Once you make the switch, the bag never makes it back in the cart.

The color in the jar tells you the flavor is still there. When spice fades to gray, the taste goes with it, and every dish it touches gets a little flatter.

We grind in small batches and pack in small jars so what you take home keeps its color and its punch. Swap the faded ones and your next dinner tastes like you changed the recipe, when all you changed was the freshness.

Store-brand tea bags give you a flat, papery cup and a pile of plastic you did not ask for. Summer deserves better than that, and it takes one extra minute to get it.

Cold brew a loose-leaf base overnight, mix in fruit and herbs, and you have a fridge full of bright iced tea all week. It is the simplest way to bring a younger crowd into real tea without asking them to fuss over a kettle. Make a pitcher Sunday and you will not reach for a bag again.

Every jar we sell is mixed and packed by hand inside our shop on South Main, the same way it has been since 1982.

Three families have run this place, each one trusted to protect what made it worth keeping. The grandmothers who shopped here in the eighties are bringing their granddaughters in now. When you order from us, you are getting something a real person blended that week, in a building that has watched the whole town grow up. That kind of place is getting harder to find, and we are not about to stop.
